My gg grandmother was Margaret Dalzell born near Dublin, in County Down, Ireland, May 27, 1834. She came with her people to America when she was 18 years old. They came in an old sailing vessel and were forty days on the water. She had a sister die at sea on the way to America and buried at sea. Her mother died when they were 4 days away from landing, so her body was brought ashore for burial. She was of Scotch-Irish Presbyterian stock and as a child was trained in that faith. On September 18,1855 she married my gg grandfather John A. Lewis. I do not know where they were married at but they are both buried in Fortville, Indiana at Gravel Lawn cemetery. I got the information on my gggrandmother from her obituary. This is the first message that I have seen on Dalzell. I am just starting to research on the Dalzell and I do not know if their father or any other sibblings came with them over here. I do not know of any other Dalzell except Margaret. Just wondered if you had any info on a Margaret born in 1834 and came to America around 1852.
Betty
