I have found out a lot more about my Dalziel's since my earlier reply.My great grandfather was William Cairns Dalziel son of Jock Dalziel & Elizabeth Cairns.William was the brother of Thomas Wilson Dalziel who married Agnes Brunton.Wiliam Cairns Dalziel married Violet Aytoun and had Violet Dalziel,Margaret Rutherford Dalziel and John Alexander Dalziel.Violet Dalziel married William Logan and had Avril,Sheena(my mum) and Moira.Sheena married Graham & they had me 1979 & Natasha 1980.We are third cousins and your Dad and my mum are 2nd cousins.
I was wondering if you knew of any descendants of Thomas's brother James as I believe he married Elizabeth Aytoun my great grandmother's sister.Also are you in touch with Carol Judkins in Australia as she is the grandaughter of Thomas's daughter Mary b.1906- so she is your second cousin or something like that.
Carol, has given me a lot of info on the Dalziels back to 1780 or so which I'm happy to share if your'e interested.
