Hi Mark, I have some info about Samuel Dalzell from County Down Ireland but the dates are different than what you have.
He was born around 1777 & brought his family to the U.S.A. in 1827. He settled in Lawrence Co. PA. & lived there until his death in 1848. He was born in Dromore, County Down Ireland, the son of William Dalzell. Samuel's wife, Mary Chambers was the daughter of Robert Chambers, whose brothers Benjamin & James founded Chambersburg PA. Mary survived Samuel & is shown in the 1850 Census of North Beaver Township, Lawrence Co. Pa. Her household is shown as Mary Dalzell 60 f; James Dalzell 25 m; Eliza Dalzell 27 f; & Isabella Dalzell 20 f. I don't know if this is your gggg-grandfather but thought I'd post it just in case. Best Regards, John Barry Delzell from Missouri.
