I have a different James Dalzell, but maybe they are related. The family was also from Pittsburgh. James Chesley Dalzell was born about 1852, and his sister Bell Dalzell was born about 1853, in Beaver, PA. Their parents were Robert Dalzell and Margaret Johnson. Bell Dalzell was an artist, and was for many years the head of the art dept in the Pittsburgh public schools. She retired about 1910 to a small alfalfa ranch in California, and her brother James joined her there. As far as I know, neither ever married.
