Hi Ken,

Thank you for the information. This is the same guy. His son George W. Dalton was born just before the 1880 census and that fits with married 30 years (for him?). I am not sure what "she said 34" means. She said married 34 years? (1866)

I would like to know her age and month to confirm who she might be later.

She is Mary J. Dalton aged about--about 1850 an born in KY? Does that check?

George W. Dalton married Rachel Harper and they should be there too. Does he confirm the TN, TN, NC for James W? They are not of concern to me but James is. So James said he was still born in TN. That means he was or he didn't know any other place that his parent told him. Sometimes they know they lived in TN but could--could be from VA or WVA, for example.

Moving on a bit for perspective, in 1840 James is born but not listed as a HOH, of course. So who would be in Henry TN in 1840? Booker S. Dalton (B.S. Dalton in 1880 TN, VA, VA; 1860 Booker S. Dalton 45 in Henry Co, TN; in 1850 a Booker Dalton is in Pittssylvania abt 1810 VA.)

In 1860 "a" James Dalton is with the Blackmons or Blackmans by himself.
George W. Dalton had a brother Charlie born in ~1871 and he should be in the 1900 census with his parents birth places too as a check I am not wasting our time in TN.
Belle Dalton married Howard Powell, the story goes, and I know nothing about her or him.

Let's see how this falls out and thnaks again for the great effort. there is no way I can go to KY.

Paul
