I'm having trouble with the marriage of James Dalton to Agatha Patterson in 1791. I, too, have seen that marriage record, but believe it's another James. The daughter of James Dalton married Elijah Potter 24 June 1791 in Franklin Co, VA. Along with the marriage bond on the microfilm at the Library of VA here in Richmond, VA is the letter of permission for Judith to marry. It's signed by James and Elizabeth Dalton. Agatha just doesn't fit.
