John Dalrymple was a brother of my great grandfather Robert, 1789-1875. I do not have confirmed dates for John, but it is said he died in 1869. They were both born in Fifeshire, Scotland, and emigrated to Canada 1810-1020 appx., settling in the Montreal area.
Elizabeth Forres, whom he likely married before 1828, was born in England in 1807 and died in 1892. She is buried in a plot in Mount Royal Cemetery which was purchased by John and Robert, but John himself, who definitely predeceased her, is apparently not there.
Cemetery records and the stone show her name as Forres, not Forrest, but...?
Any clues welcomed; we have five names for children--Annie, Andrew, John, Henry, and James--but so far only Henry is confirmed via official documentation of any sort. Annie and Andrew are buried in the same family plot, but not specifically identified as daughter/son of John Sr., although they likely are.
