My Grandmother's maiden name was Stair, Daughter of Orville and Goldie Stair of Ohio, and I believe that one of her relatives has traced the family back to James Dalrymple of Stair. When in Scotland, we found the gravesites of Margaret Ross of Balniel with other Stair progeny, and happened to find James Dalrymple Viscount Stair in the chapel at the Parliament complex in Edinburgh.
