My great-grandfather was named John Wesley Dalrymple. He was born on August 7, 1843 - Died January 3, 1883. He is the son of Lewis Dalrymple and Amanda Eliz Smith.
John Wesley Dalrymple served in Orr's South Carolina Rifles, Company L. (More infor is available if you are interested.)
John Wesley was the father of John Berry Dalrymple, my grandfather. My father was Carol Horace Dalrymple.
