Brian,

Thanks for your reply. I am not sure your family is the one for whom I am looking.

I am trying to find a mysterious ancestor belonging to my husband. A Mr. DOLLINS/DALLAS/etc. married Alice TAIT c. 1860 in Allegheny Co, PA. He was supposedly killed in a steamboat accident, but resurfaced later claiming anmesia. Meanwhile, his wife had remarried John GRAY, and her two DOLLINS/DALLAS children had taken her maiden name of TAIT.

Alice TAIT DOLLINS/DALLAS appears in the 1870 Alleghney Co, PA census with her mother as Alice DALLAS.

No one in the family can remember Mr. DOLLINS/DALLAS' first name or exactly what his surname was.

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

Thanks for your help.

Terri
