I am looking for information about my grandfather Richard E. Daley. He left Hollister Calif, about 1934 to work on the
Hoover Dam. He disappeard until I read an obituary he died in 1968 (he was 72) in Las Vegas Nevada. He lived at 2080 North Walnut Road Las Vegas. He was a member of the Elks lodge 1468 for ten years. He was a food supervisor with Reynolds Electrical and Engineering Company at the Nevada Test Site for 13 year (believe it was site 51). He was active in mining in many Western states, and was associated in Nevada mining with a Mr. Charles R. Bell of Las Vegas, an executive assistant to US Rep Walter S. Baring. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 8, the Clark County Democratic Central Committee, and was an Executive Democratic Board member. He was born in Hooister Calif and attended Sacred heart School in Hollister. he served in the Navy form 1917 to 1919.
The obituary stated that his ball bearers were Kenny D Adams, Larry Thompson, Frank Milano, Ron Kiehn and Bill Flangas, Honorarypallbearers were were Congressamn Baring,
US Senator Alan Bible, US Sen. Howard Cannon,Cad "Curley" Price, Judge George Marshall, Ted Marshall Peter Paul Arapis, Dr. Robert Morrison, Don Perchetti, Frank Matthews, Frank Damewood, Jack Hallahan, Chuck Jordan, and Manuel Rodella. It said he had a niece, Billie V. Larsen of 4923 East Lake Mead Blvd., Las Vegas. If any of these people know about my Grand father I would appriciate you contacting me. I would like to know about him.He left Hollister one day and never returned. Everyone in the family thought he had died at Hoover dam. It wasn't until 1998 that my cousin found the news paper article on the net.
