Royal Ancestry of Katherine Dale Carter
There is an article in The American Genealogist, Whole Number 297, January 2000, Vol. 75, No. 1, pp. 27-29 By Charles Martin Ward, Jr. disputing the royal heritage of Katherine Dale Carter. He bases his conclusions on the fact that according to the Thomas Carter Prayer Book, Katherine was born about 1652 and that Diana Skipwith signed documents in her maiden name of Skipwith in 1655 and her married name of Dale in 1660, so therefore Diana could not be the mother of Katherine, the mother was a previous unknown wife of Edward Dale. If anyone has proof of the marriage date of Diana Skipwith and Edward Dale or proof that Diana Skipwith was the mother of Katherine, please contact me.
I am a descendant of Katherine’s sister (half-sister?) Elizabeth Dale Rogers.
Sincerely,
Lesa Pfrommer
