A quick glance back at Federal Censuses (and reference to Tom McNeill's descendancy for Nicholas Dale, a link to which can be found on this forum) suggests that Hettie was from the original Overton County Dale clan in TN:
1910: James W. & "Lassie" D. Dale, a young married couple, are in Clay Co., TN, with young son Wilbur L. Dale. All b. TN.By census day, April 15, Hettie had not been born yet.
1900: Among about 15 James Dales in TN, the only likely one (by age) is at home in the 9th Civil Dist. of Clay Co., TN, with father William (b. Feb 1855) and apparent stepmother Ida.James is 13, b. July 1886.
1880: Among about 20 William Dales in TN, the only likely one by age is a William T. Dale (25, b. TN) in nearby Jackson Co., TN, with wife Mollie J. (17, b. TN).
1870:William T. Dale (15) and siblings Martha and James--who are children of William Jackson Dale (d. 1863 in Civil War; fide Tom McNeill) and Leanna (Butler) Dale--are living with their grandparents William & Martha (Goodpasture) Dale in Overton Co.
Since William (m. Martha Goodpasture) is himself a descendant of a string of William Dales, then Hettie's grandfather William T. Dale is about William the 6th!
I may have gone astray in this quick review. It all needs double-checking.I was inspired to check out Hettie's ancestry because Ada, OK, is familiar to me from my own (distantly related) Dale line.
