Robert, Rachel W. Waite w/o Peter Waite was Agnes and ____ Wood's dau.. Agnes had a sister Polly H (Mary)Dalby m/1 William Waite and they were the parents of Peter Waite. Rachel and Peter were first cousins as they were the offspring of sisters. The ____ Wood comes from the reconstructed will of the girls' father Knight Dalby in Bedford Co.,Tn where the court house burned after his death.
And Agnes and ____ Wood were according to that dead by 1848. There is a Leonard Dalby book which says family tradition has it that Agnes married a William Wood then he says or Robert Wood. I looked with a good researcher for ten years for ____ Wood and I now believe I can find him through census records, deeds, and neighbors in Bedford Co and Bowie Co. There is a William Wood who received a land grant in Cherokee Co.,Tx who came to Repulbic of Tex. Nov.,1839 which is when all those Dalby's came and one of the others went to Cherokee Co. but can't remember which one now and haven't come across that info yet. I haven't worked on this in five years because I was ready to scream because I kept proving each suspious person was not _____ Wood.
What is your source that Agnes married Robert Waite. There is a Robert Waite in Bedford Co.Tn and he was the executor of Knight Dalby's estate. I feel he was William's father or brother and I need to look into that. Please let me hear from you again. Did you grow up near Dalby Springs in Bowie Co?
