As you have already found out there are a lot of Dake's that originated in NY. What is your husband's name and does he know any ancestors before this William and Emma? I have a web site at www.dakehome.com where I am trying to document the genealogy of all Dake's that originated in Rhode Island. This branch of the family surname was originally Deake but changed to Dake, in most branches about 1811. Would love to help tie your husband into this genealogy but at this time I have a lot of William Dake's but none with the birth and death dates that you have provided.
