I believe we are from the same family...or at least searching for the same people. After a long absence I viewed the list again and I have been through all of your postings and correspondence with Loren. I can't help you much, but a little clue sometimes open new doors. I, myself, am not a Dake or blood related. I started searching the Dake family because my great aunt, Rhea Cooper, married Henry F. Dake on August 17, 1917 in Grand Rapids, MI. According to marriage registra at the Kent County Records office (Grand Rapids), Henry F. Dake lists his parents as Charles Dake and Anna VanderNutt. I have viewed this myself. At the time of their marriage, Henry F. Dake lists his occupation as a soilder and his address was Chicago, Il. I think perhaps he was stationed there. My great aunt died very young and Henry remarried her best friend. Henry also became very wealthy from the invention of a "moving light" on a train. I believed it to be the main engine light. Henry and Rhea moved to California sometime in late 30's or early 40's. My father remembers a going away party for them when he was a very young boy. The family lost all contact with them after that. I have been trying to locate their children, William Dake and Virginia Dake who were born in the 20's. No luck so far. I was told both of the children were airline pilots. I also have some very lovely pictures of Rhea and Henry from the 20's. Hope something here has helped.....not to much to go on though. Best of luck. Jeri Cooper DeVries
