Benjamin Dake Sr. Sons:Benjamin Dake, Jr., James Dake, George Dake:WINDSOR, VT:1781-1830's:Connie, Please review my DAKE query 10/30/98: On p.34 of THE HISTORY OF WEST WINDSOR VT. lists Benjamin Dake (Sr ?) as an early settler with his family to West Windsor, VT. According to the history, Benjamin Dake and son James rode on horseback from Rhode Island to West Windsor, VT to buy their first 50 Acres of land in West Windsor. They built a log cabin in a field near Brook Rd. where a ggggranddaughter, Florence Van Dusen lived as of 1977. Do you have any info on George Dake who married Betsy Putnam, my 4thgreat aunt abt.1800-1810 in Windsor VT? Any help would be appreciated. The DAKES seem to disappear from the Windsor area after 1830-1840.THANX.Patrick J. Putnam
