I don't think these are the same people. I have always had the impression that all these Daily/Dailey children were born in Ireland. William, the father, was a colonel in the Irish war of 179? who later came to America where he died of cholera. As for William, the son, the only information I have is that he immigrated to this country. All the information on William, the father, and the siblings of Daniel, came from an article in a local newspaper written by a woman who said Daniel "has been a most welcome visitor in my father's home many times." Daniel's last name was spelled Daily in legal documents, etc. His children, however, spelled their names Dailey. Or at least that was the spelling on marriage records in the 1870's. Of course, it is possible that William, the son, changed the spelling of his name to something else.
