Well, better late than never, right? My GG Grandfather was John Samuel Dahlgren b. 12/15/1835 in Helsingland, Sweden d. 7/14/1908 in York NE. He was married first to Clara Anderson who gave birth to Charles Gustav and John Albin. She died in 1871 in New Boston, IL. He married Anna Johnson on 8/12/1871 in New Boston, and they moved to Nebraska in 1872. He and Anna had at least 10 children, whose names I can provide if you are interested. I was told that John Samuel/Samual John was originally Adamson, Sanderson or Samuelson, but after serving in the militia in Sweden he was allowed to change his name to Dahlgren. I have no proof of that -- just family rumor.
