Jerry

I am not a Daggett, but my dad's mother's ancestors(Athearn) married into the Daggett line(Robert married "Peggy" Daggett in MV). They left MV sometime after 1784, and trekked to New Vineyard. A son Benjamin was born 1794 there, according to his date of death and age on his gs. Benjamin was married 1819 in Industry, a section of New Vineyard that was annexed off. They later moved to Hope, ME.,about 1823 when Benjamin's son Ezekiel was born. They all lived, died and are buried in Hope except Ezekiel who died in the Civil War and is buried in S.C. There is a book written by Dorothy Cottle Poole called "A New Vineyard" which can be requested through the library. It names some Daggetts and others who went to New Vineyard. Unfortunately, the early town records were burned in a 1926 fire.
