Daggett-Smith marriage abt 1814 New England

Mystery ancestress! I have an Almira D. Smith, b 1795, had at least two daughters, Laura Mary (b 1815) and Phoebe (b abt 1817), who became teachers in Illinois abt 1833. Almira's husband was a "Capt. Smith, lost at sea." So, having found a ship "Almira," maiden voyage 1822 under a Capt. Daggett, I'm wondering if the "D" in Almira's name stands for Daggett. Does any of this information ring a bell with anyone out there?
