Hello Daggett family,
I am searching for information about Oren Daggett b 1812 MA m Elizabeth Myers. Oren moved to Marion Co IL about 1835. His father-in-law Christian Myers moved with him. According to LDS, Oren is the son of Elihu and grandson of Reuben > Nathaniel JR > Nathaniel SR > John Jr > JOhn Sr [imm]
Listed in the 1810/1820/1830 Bristol Co MA census are Elihu Sr and Elihu Jr. In 1830 Elihu Sr is M 80-90. This seems to fit better for Elihu son of Mayhew than the son of Reuben. Both these older Elihus died aft 1830. Which one is this in Bristol Co MA 1830? And, if this is son of Mayhew, then where is Elihu son of Reuben? Can anyone tell me?
Elihu Jr does have a son that would fit my Oren. But I do not know enough about Mayhew's line to say for sure that it is him. Because Elihu Jr and Sr are located close to one another, I can only assume that they are father and son.
Oren married Elizabeth abt 1832, assuming in NY, since their first two children are born there. LDS says Genesee Co NY. Are Oren's kin also in NY? The census states that he is born MA.
I traced Christian Myers back to 1820 St Lawrence Co NY. He is in 1810 NY but I will have to return to NARA to find this record. It is interesting to note that Christian's last child was named Elihu Christian Myers! Is there a connection between Daggetts and Myers here too?
Any help would be gladly appreciated.
