Hi...I am aparently descended from a totally different branch of Daggs than any mentioned here. Mine came from England, and ended up in Georgia.

John DAGG(47)(48) was born in 1700 in England.(47) He was a ship-carpenter at Bristol, England He immigrated to Dumfries, Prince William County, Virginia. He resided in Dumfries, Prince William County, Virginia. He had two other sons that died at an early age.
Children were: Thomas DAGG.

Thomas DAGG(52)(53) was born in 1730 in Dumfries, Prince William County, Virginia. He signed a will in 1788 in Prince William County, Virginia. Parents: John DAGG and Sarah OVERALL.

Children were: Robert DAGG, John DAGG .

Robert DAGG(51) died in Dumfries, Prince William County, Virginia. Parents: Thomas DAGG and Clarissa POWELL.

Elizabeth Thornton DAGG was born in Mar 1814. She died on 30 Jan 1870 in Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia. Parents: John Leadley DAGG Rev. D.D. and Frances THORNTON.

She was married to Rev. Shaler Granby HILLYER about 1848. Children were: Emily HILLYER, John Leadly HILLYER, Harriet Cathrine HILLYER, Sarah Jane "Lallie" HILLYER, Junius Freeman "Bud Junie" HILLYER, Frances Rebecca HILLYER , Louisa Clarissa HILLYER, Cathrine Carlton "Kate" HILLYER, Esther HILLYER, Philo Llewellyn HIL

John Leadley DAGG Rev. D.D.(49) was born on 13 Feb 1794 in Middleburg, Loudon County, Virginia.(50) He was a President of Mercer University in 1845 in Penfield, Georgia. He died on 11 Jun 1884 in Hayneville, Lowndes County, Alabama. (50) He was buried in Hayneville, Lowndes County, Alabama. Cemetery is on Cemetery Rd. in Hayneville, Alabama Pres. of Mercer Univ. Parents: Robert DAGG and Sarah DAVIS.

Children were: Elizabeth Thornton DAGG , Rev. J. F. DAGG

Children were: John Leadley DAGG Rev. D.D..

John OVERALL(232) signed a will on 16 Sep 1742 in Prince William County, Virginia.(233)

Anybody out there have any comments or additions?
i understand from work I did in the library in Salt Lake that the name Was DODD when they got on shipborad to come to America.
