My wife is a Daffron, descended from, in sequence Joseph Daffron of Dublin 1790-1824 or so, then his son Joseph, then his son William of Dublin in the 1850-60s, and he came to Virginia in 1860s, and their family has been here since.

I do not know when they first got to Ireland. Family story, unconfirmed, is they came there from France.
