I did not get a chance to look at all the
daeth adn delayed birth records but will get abck to you on any finds. I did get a copy of the 1880 Falls County Tx census and Andrew with his family is listed along with M. L. Daffin and his wife Cora and their 1 year old daughter Alice. Also listed with M.L., is hsi mother-in-law, M.E. Harwell.
Marcus is 18, Cora is 17 and Mrs Harwell is
listed as 40 yrs old. All except for Alice are listed as born in Aabama with their mother and father's birthplace as Alabama.
I will check the death records for Alice
McVea and delayed births for any McVea's in
her area in case they have children that
could lead back to them. WIll let you know
what I find. I have seen the postings by Sue
but have not made any contact as of yet. I
would love to share any information I find with all those interested. I did find a couple of other leads in the 1880 census that
I'm researching having to do with 2 other Daffins listed in Falls county that I have not tied in to Andrew or Jackson (both listed
in 1880 census). The names are Eugene Daffin
who is 21 yrs old and is listed as a Stepson
under a family group named Fortune. The head is John at 48 , but unfortunately the wife's name only has one letter (looks like a "Y"),
she was 37. SHe has 2 children by John Fortune with the oldest at 7. This means the
latest she would have re-married would have
been 30,or 1850. She was either the wife of a
Daffin or the daughter of one. There is also
a Blount Daffin (age 15)listed on the next half of p168 of this census along with several Doty's. I know Ann Daffin (b.1819),
a sister to Andrew and Jackson, married an
E.J. Doty. The male is 29 so it could be one
of their children. He lists his birthplace as
Texas but his father was born in Virginia and
mother ALabama. This fits, but I don't know
who he is for sure, his inittials are W.H.
I have some other records I am checking to
see if I can get info on Marcus Lafayette's
death date and Cora's. WIll get back to you as I get more.
