Hayley, what a surprise to get a message from you! I last posted there in 2002. Our families have ties through the Ragsdales. My great, great grandfather was John C. Randolph who married Dicey Ragsdale in Williamson Co., Tn.. Her family moved to Williamson Co., Tennessee about the same time the Randolphs (John and Cloey) did. John C. Randolph, one of their sons, lived in Maury Co., Tn. after his marriage to Dicey in 1819. John C.'s sister married Lancaster Ragsdale and a younger sister Mary Heron married John Brown Ragsdale in 1821. This last couple had a daughter named Sarah Ada Amanda who married Jeremiah White in St. Francis Co., Arkansas. Sarah died when her first and only daughter was very young. Mary Heron Ragsdale, her mother came to get her granddaughter Frances Paris White and took her to raise in Alabama. When Sarah grew up, she married the widower of her aunt (Ann Elisa Ragsdale) named Albert Wright. Sarah and Albert had a daughter named Mary Elizabeth Wright who married E. Stephens Daffin. Now, I suspect that is close enough to you that you know more than I do of the rest of the line.
I would be happy to send you a copy of the notes of Mrs. Blake Van Leer of Atlanta, Georgia written in 1954. She was a Randolph-Ragsdale researcher. If you don't already have it, you would find it very interesting. A copy of these notes was sent to me by a fine, generous researcher named Horace Randolph who has since died. It was invaluable to me in researching my McKiel family. All I knew at that time was that my father who died when I was eight was the son of William and M.A. McKiel from Holly Springs, Mississippi. Let me know if you want this information and I will scan it to you if you like. It should be preserved in your family. Janice
