Catherine Edith Daffern(?), UK
I'm trying to trace my wife's grandmothers ancestors. The following is all the information I have.
Catherine Edith (Daffern or Daffurn?) was born in the 1870's. She married a Mr. Phillips about 1899 and they had two children, Gilbert William and Dorothy Edith (my wife's grandmother). Mr. Phillips died and Catherine married a G.A. Griffiths. They had a daughter together, Evelyn Joyce Griffiths. Dorothy changed her last name to Griffiths.
Dorothy (born July 4, 1901 in Presteigne) married Reginald James Weaveron Dec 26, 1927 at the Holy Trinity Church in Hereford. At that time, Catherine and her husband lived at the Ivy Villa, Cornwall St. in Hereford.
Catherine died in her 88th year while living at 20, New Road, Llanelli, Wales. She was cremated at the Morriston Crematorium on March 6, 19??
Catherines parents were only known as Nanny and Tatty. (I think Tatty is Welsh slang for grandfather; correct me if I'm wrong !). It is believed that their surname was Daffern or Daffurn.
I'm afraid that's all I know. If you, or someone you know, can fill in some blanks, it would be most appreciated.
