JAMES DAFFERN; War of 1812
I've been seeking information on a family line that for the most part was listed as DAFFIN, however, several records concerning this one individual has the spelling DAFFERN. James DAFFERN/DAFFIN was the son of Robert and Eliza Daffin of St. Mary's Co., Md. who were married in 1781. Robert was a 2nd Lieutentant in the Rev. War and his son James was an Ensign in Capt. Cornelius Combs Co. during the War of 1812. I have only been able to trace him up to 1820 when he was last listed in the Md. census with only himself as the Head of family and a young male under 16. I assume it was his son. Before 1820 it appeared he also had a wife in the censuses. If you have this person in your Daffern line please contact me.
