JOHANN JACOB DATISMAN was born 1722 probably in Wuertemberg Germany. He came to America in 1749 arriving in Philadelphia on the ship Christian. His son MATTHIAS DADISMAN was born around 1750 & purchased land in 1781 in Westminister Md. before moving to Lincoln Co. Ky. in 1790. Most of the Dadismans in Kentucky descend from Matthias. Another son was JACOB DADISMAN, born 8 May 1754, who eventually settled in Frederick Md. Jacob's sons George & John moved down into the Shenandoah Valley Va. Most of the Dadismans in Virginia & West Virginia descend from these two sons. Jacob's son William took the Daddysman name, so anyone carrying that name descends from William. Another son of Johann Jacob Datisman was JOHN DATTISMAN. John stayed in Pennsylvania, where his descendants still live.
