Further to my message posted below about Caroline and Daniel Dade in September 2003 , I have now ascertained from the 1861 census return that my gx5 grandfather Daniel Dade was born circa 1796 in Harleston, Suffolk (the records show Harston). In 1861 he is living at 4 Park Road, Clapham, Surrey with his wife Elizabeth, nee Thorp, and children Arthur, Edwin and Emma. Daniel and Elizabeth are living at Park Road Clapham by 1841, where he is a master plumber.
I know there are Dades to be found in Weybread, Wingfield and Eye (all near to Harleston) but I have had no luck in contacting Roy Dade, who I understand is the font of knowledge on the Suffolk Dades. Can anyone help me in trying to connect Daniel Dade with his Suffolk roots? I would be interested to read the 1888 Dade Book. I have further info on Daniel and his descendents available.
