I am not researching the Dade family but ran across this in our local newspaper. It was taken from a old scrapbook of clippings from the Williamsport(Ohio)News. Might be of interest to anyone researching this family line.
"Joshua Dade was born in Orange County, Va. in 1801. He was a slave for more than 60 years and came to Lancaster(Ohio) after the war. He moved to Circleville(Ohio)in 1872 and died in 1907 at the age of 106. His father died at the age of 101 and his mother at 87."
