Regarding the Dacus family in Ar, my grandfather, James Uphrates Dacus, was born approx 1889 in either Greene County AR or Craighead County AR. I do not know for sure if James U. Dacus AKA Fratus AKA J.U. Dacus was closely related to Beauregard Dacus. Many years ago my father, Avery Lawrence Dacus, had a dense book titled "History of Greene County AR" and also a book on the history of Craighead County. I remember reading in one of the books wherein Beauregard Dacus was mentioned as well as some of his family. My name is Ronald Lawrence Dacus. My father, Avery l. Dacus, was born in June, 1915 in either Greene or Craighead. His parents were members of Mt Zion Baptist Church perhaps near Lorado, AR. Most of J.U. Dacus' children, as adults, moved to La Verne, CA in the late 1930's and the 1940's. J.U. Dacus was married to Annie Hix, whose parents were in KY before going to AR.
