Hi, I am following up on my family line; Beauregard Dacus married Nannie Turner. They had a daughter named Mary Ona & she is my g-grandmother who married my g-grandfather Earnest Sullins. They in turn had my grandfather William B. Sullins who had my father William W. Sullins.
My question is whether anyone knows whether Beauregard or Nannie was Native American? Family legend says that Mary Ona was half Native American, I believe either Choctow or Cherokee. Is this ringing a bell for anyone?
I also believe that Beauregard's mother was Mahilda Atchley? Any information in that direction would help, too.
