My fellow Dacus researchers agree that we have not seen a true Dacus coat of arms. Take a look at the response below from Sherman Jumper. His comments about DANICUS refer to one of two explanations of the name DACUS...one from English sourches in which DANICUS refers to the Danes...the other which connects the name to the DACI tribe of Macedonia. For a look at the painting, go to http://people.delphi.com/ivanor/zroaen0.htmFollowing my discovery of the DACIA painting several months ago, I sent the group the WWW site of the ancient Zurich Roll of Arms for DACIA painted on a tapestry. Please remember that this represents DACIA [DANES, DANICUS] not DACUS. In this case DACIA is the latin name for Denmark or DANES and definitely not DACUS. This may be a bit confusing since some of you are aware that DACIA is also the name of an old kingdom that is embraced roughly by present day Romania. It is perplexing to modern day scholars as well. No one seems to have an explanation for the dual application of DACIA for DANES and also the ancient territory described above that pre-dates the Roman Empire. As best I can determine a DACUS COAT OF ARMS does not exist, as is the case for most surnames. There are lot of bogus ones out there as Fred and others detailed earlier. I am sorry if this led to any confusion. Sherman Jumper
