A listing of the Dicus family by Rufus Dicus, circa 1945 says the Dicus family has been known to spell the name in the several ways you suggest. They extend from a William Dicus who supposedly came to this country from Wales or Scotland in about 1630. It appears that there are about 1,100 dicus telephone listings in the US. I guess the charge to be fruitfuland multiply applies.
