Just found thru my McDannold line that Mary Dabney who married Maj Thomas Carr is in my family line too. Everyone is right about all the confusion on who is who and who belongs to whom. My head has just been spinning since I start looking thru all the information out there. Seems everyone has their own idea on the structure of the Dabney line. Nothing seems to fit. I am connected to William C Carr, son of Thomas and Mary Carr. William's daughter Agnes Brooke married William Ellis. From there to the McDannold's. I have another family line (Dulins,Doolings, Duling) connected to the same area as the Carr and Dabney's in Virginia. I read somewhere that the Carr & Dulin families were aquainted with the Lee family of Virginia. Has anyone heard about the connection? Seems too that we are either directly or indirectly related to Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln(this is on the Carr side).
