Dabbs Family Genealogy Forum

Hi Linda, thank you so much for all the GREAT information on tis family. When I read your post I automatically got Dr. jack Dabbs' book and sent what info. he had in it. The book was published back in the early 1980's. Yes, I knew Denton very well, although we never met. We corresponded for years and after Dr. Jack passed away, Denton took over his research until his death. I never got a copy of Denton's book and even wrote to the National Archives but coudn't get a copy. Denton and I tried to connect our families and I'll have to go back to my files and see where we fit in. My line goes back to Nathaniel Dabbs of Henrico co. Va. I'm not sure at this moment, but believe we are connected through this same line. Is there another copy of Manerva's book? If so I'd love to have a copy and if not, and if the book isn't too big, and not an inconvience, could it be xeroxed? I'd pay for the copying. (Also, a copy of Denton's book, too). We were sure we were connected for William settled around Giles Co. and Coffee co. Tn. and my line settled around Wayne and Perry Co. which is a short distance away. Do you have anything on a POLLY Dabbs from Giles co. Tn. about 1820? I think she was a widow then. Thank again for the information. Shirley
