I do believe that DAVID SYDNEY DABBS was born in N.C. His famiy may have gone on to Ga., and Ala. I just do not know. I know that JOHN DABBS, who I think may have been his father left Anson Co., N.C., and went to DeKalb Co., Ga., where he died c1832 or there abouts. I found this in his Rev. War Papers. I do not have them before me, so I can not give the exact date of death. There were no family records with his papers. I do know that a THOMAS SLAY, who JOHN DABBS lived beside in N.C., left and moved to Ga. at about the same time. His name was mentioned in the Rev. Papers. In Jack Autrey Dabbs' book, DABBS FAMILY GENEALOGY, USA, he has data about a JOHN H. DABBS who was born in Ga. 5 Nov. 1805; went on to Ala., and there is other information on his family. I know that NATHANIEL DABBS was very close to the TIMOTHY HANEY FAMILY in Anson Co., N.C., and the HANEY FAMILY, or part of them moved to Union Co., S.C., about the same time as NATHANIEL. Also, a VENALID JANE HANEY (b. 14 Dec. 1830; d. 19 Jan. 1857) married THOMAS PATRICK DABBS who lived in Anson or Union Co., N.C. (not S.C., but N.C.) A KATHERINE HANEY married a CHARLES HUFFMAN DABBS, when or where, I do not know. I appreciate your suggestion about the Ga. to Ala. to N.C. move. I will have to look into this. Thanks for any other data that you might have. Sincerely, Bobbie
