I found in a book called "Old Kent" the following messages: John Dabbs married Nan Eates 8th month (No day)1655. Then: Page 219, At Court houlden for the County of Kent ye 28th day of January 1667, Present-Capt.Robt. Vaughan, Mr. John Vickeris, Mr. Richard Blunt, Mr. John Dabb, Mr. William Head, Mr.Tho. Osborne , commissioners. Further down the page, year 1668: John Dabb still listed as a commioner. Also Sec: 90 At a Court held the 13th of October 1668, for the Lord Proprietor, in the 37th yeare of his Dominion,at Mr. Richard Blunt's , for Kent county. Whereas information hath been given to some of the Commissioners of this county that Hannah Jenkinsm Daughter in Law to Mr. George Harris of this county hath been delivered of a man child (continuing page 220) The Court finding a suspition of Mutheer ordered a Jury of women to be called to Search the body of the said Hannah whether she was delivered of a child or noe, which accordingly was done. The Jury-women: Mary Vicaris, Elizabeth Winchester, Rebecca Denny, Hannah Dabb, Christian Ringold Katherine Osborne, Elizabeth Coppage, Ann Blunt, Dorthy Williams , Mary Southern Margaret Jones, Katharine State. The Jury's verdict is that the said Hannah Jenkins is clear from the bearing and never had a child to the best of knowledge. Signed Mary Vicaris, Fore-woman. John Dabb was a commissioner in 1669 and in 1670 as a commissioner was made overseer of the highe ways for the Upper Hundred, and Ed. Burton for the lower one of the county. This was an old book that was held together with a ribbon tying, which I found at the Memphis , Tenn. Public Library. May jnot add much to researchers but it does show a Hannah Dabb who was probably too old to be a daughter to John Dabb.
