According to an Anson County Court Record William
DABBS, being the oldest son of Joseph DABBS (who
died in Lunenburg Co., VA in 1749)was entitled to
some slaves which were left to a sister Elener who
died as a child. William DABBS in this record is
giving his right to these slaves to his only
sister Mary, wife of Patrick BOGGAN. These slaves
having been removed from Virginia by James WEBB
who intermarried with Nanny the widow of Joseph
DABBS.

From this and other records I have the following:

Joseph DABBS married Nanny HOGGATT (daughter of
Anthony HOGGATT and Eleanot CROW) in Goochland Co.
VA Jul 1733. Their children were: William DABBS
(my ancestor), Richard DABBS, Capt. Joseph DABBS,
Nathaniel DABBS, Eleanor DABBS, and Mary DABBS
(who married Cpt. Patrick BOGGAN).

James Dabbs
Tuscumbia, AL
