I also found a document, Davidson Co, TN Roll 524 Vol G Pg 483, that says: Tuesday Morning June 21, 1831 Court met according to the adjournment Present the Honorable Thomas Stuart, Judge John R Dabbs Complainant vs On Bill Elizabeth Dabbs, & others Defendants On motion of the Complainant by his Counsel, And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the Defendant, Tazewell J Dabbs & Mary Dabbbs his wife are not inhabitants of this state. It is Ordered by the Court that publication be made (written above word 'made" is 4 weeks) successively in the Whig & Banner at Nashville & The Richmond Enquirer in Virgina commanding the said defendants to appear here at next court, & plead Answer or demure to said bill, otherwise, the same will be taken for consessed against them and set for hearing ex parte, & decrees accordingly. ---------------- We will need to find the document before this one to see exactly what it reads. This judge is giving Tazewell and Mary 4 weeks, posted in the two newspapers of TN and VA, to answer whatever is going on with this case. In 1832 there is a document that shows Elizabeth Dabbs selling her dower to John R Dabbs for $500. This document agrees with the census record of Tazewell living in VA in 1830. My belief is John R Dabbs is brother-in-law to Tazewell, and wife Mary is his sister. My theory is, if it had been something between Tazewell and John, Mary's name would not have been included, as custom of the day regarding women. But because it is probably about something dealing with Rev Richard's estate, Mary is named because she is the married daughter of Rev Richard. I think that this is the document (1831) that concludes that Mary Dabbs is daughter of Rev Richard and sister to John R Dabbs along with the document (1833) I posted earlier, which says "Tazewell J Dabbs & wife."
