I am a little confused about Joseph Dabbs. I get the feeling he may have been married more than one time. In the info I just recd in a new book that came out (The Heritage of Limestone Co Alabama) it states a Joseph Dabbs as being married to Nanny Hoggatt in 1 Jul 1733. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Hoggatt who was a sub sherriff and had large land holdings in Goochland Co. VA, In 1747 he moved to Charlotte CO VA an d died there in 1749.
The next line talks of a Richard, Sr being the son of Joseph Dabbs and Elizabeth Foster Dabbs in Charlotte co., Va. I think Joseph was married more than one time. Let me know if you have anything. I am descended through Richard Dabbs, Sr.
