I would be grateful to hear from COBB researchers whose line went to Mississippi about 1835. My 2nd g-grandmother is believed to have been Elizabeth COBB, b. about 1820 (1817-1823) in NC. The first record we have of her was a marriage record found in Noxubee County, MS dated 1835 - she married Warrin Robbins. Even though the1835 marriage record shows her surname was DABB, bible records left with some of her descendants indicate that Elizabeth was a COBB. A few researchers have written that there were some early marriages between these two families in Anson County, NC as early as the late 1790's and early 1800's - COBB and DABB(s). We know that the Warrin Robbins' family traveled from Edgecombe County, NC and settled in Sumter County, AL about 1833 and later settled in Rankin and Pontotoc counties in Mississippi. If any COBB families followed that pattern, I would be grateful to hear from you. Elizabeth named her first son, William and her first two daughters, Catherine and Matilda - some of of these names might be in her parents' COBB lines. I appreciate any replies.
