Where was Radnice in mid-1800s?
I'm working on my son-in-law's line. Many of his ancestors came from central Europe in the mid-to-late 1800s and settled in or near Chicago. Many of the records I've found so far give locations such as Bohemia or Austria; sometimes "Austrian Bohemia". (Boy, that one was sure helpful!) Some say Czechoslovakia.
I found one Cook County, IL, birth cert for one of his relatives born in Chicago, however, which clearly and legibly says both of this person's parents (who would be my son-in-law's great great grandparents) were born in "Bohemian Radnice".
When I Googled Radnice, I didn't get much help.
Obviously, especially in this part of the world, national borders moved a lot; place names changed; etc.
I'm just curious where Radnice was back then, and is today.
