Adela, I want to begin by mentioning something that I don't know if you're aware of or not: In Czech, surnames have a masculine form and a feminine form. Kate's actual family name was HACH, which is the form of the name used by the men of the family. The women of the Hach family use the feminine form of the name, which is HACHOVÁ. So the family name you're actually interested in is HACH. The town you're interested in is located in the western part of what was until 1918 the Austrian province of BOHEMIA. Bohemia is one of the three components of today's Czech Republic. Unfortunately, Czech diacritical marks do not come out here on the message board, so I will have to "describe" to you the correct spelling of the name of the town: The correct spelling is SEC, but there is a diacritical mark over the "c" that looks like a little "v". That gives the "c" the pronunciation "ch". The town was called in German SETSCH. This town is only about 1 mile west of the small city called in Czech BLOVICE, and in German BLOWITZ. These towns are about 12 miles south of the city called in Czech PLZEN, and in German PILSEN. Robert Notify Administrator about this message?
