I am now clutching at straws.Does anyone have any information on the Fesco's or Zsilka's.I have been told all my life that my Grandfather was born in Hungary his name was Joseph William Fesco. He came to England in the early 1900's with his mother Maria Fesco.Joseph's father was also called Joseph his occupation was a miner. What happened to him ? Maria married sometime during my grandfathers childhood a man called John (Jan/Johann)Zsilka.John had 2 sons John (Jan/Johann) Mick(Mikael) and daughter Rosa. Mary & John as they were known in England. I do not know where John or his son's John & Mick & daughter Rosa were born. Does anyone have these people in their family tree !!! Granddad used to say Dobra Noc & Dobra Den which I believe could be from Slovakia or even Poland was John Zsilka Polish,Czech or was he Slovakian.I know when Granddad was born it was the Austro-Hungarian Empire and was spilt in 1918.Slovakia became independent from Czechoslovakia on 1st January 1993. Any information on these families would be fantastic. As I now do not know where to look.I have been told to employ a professional Genealogist wonderful if you have the funds.
