First of all Europe is a place where languages abound and if someone wants to read something in a foreign language they can readily find someone who knows that language in short order. Foreign languages don't bring fear into their hearts as it does with us in America. Learning English has become very popular because it is useful on the internet. Little kids learn English just for that reason.
Next, Czechoslovakia (which has not existed since 1993) had a common border with Ukraine so "moving to Czechoslovakia" might mean they moved a couple of miles down the road and in doing so they crossed the border. But, the border they crossed would have deposited them into the Slovak part of Czechoslovakia not the Czech speaking part.
And most of the inhabitants of that part of Ukraine belonged to the Rusyn minority. And when they moved they didn't necessarily intend to jump countries but to live among the numerous Rusyns who lived in Slovakia or in Southern Poland.
Your problem is you have lumped a few facts together and deposited these folks in Bohemia or Moravia (these were the Czech provinces of Czechoslovakia)when they may have never gotten within 300 miles of them.
The things needed are their ethnicity and/or the language they spoke. If they were Rusyns they wouldn't go to Bohemia because they didn't speak the language. But, If they were ethnic Germans (there were plenty of them in Ukraine before WWII) they might go to Bohemia or Moravia because about 20% of the folks there were also ethnic Germans.
Your search will go better if you establish more basic facts about these folks rather than rely on only a name. The most important clues are place names. If you find Picherts somewhere and they come from the same place as your Picherts you are on to something.
