It's PRAGUE in English and PRAHA in Czech. Are you certain it's Prague you want? Family lore that ancestors came from Berlin, Warsaw, Vienna, Prague ,etc. is very common and mostly untrue. Most who left the old country were village people who found the only way to prosper was to go elsewhere asap. Prague is one of the great cities of Europe. There are churches on every corner in Prague and half of them are Roman Catholic. What is of particular importance is the time frame in question. All the older records are in church books and you have to know which church to get any results. For most of us that would be an impossible search. There are no indexes that would facilitate such a search. After civil registrations came into being it is more possible to trace somebody but, the Czech government legislated restrictions about who can recieve any family records. At the moment the only way to do any research there is to hire a local genealogist. Notify Administrator about this message?
