What information were you looking for in the sites that I provided? They will not tell you where he was born that information you have to find among the US documents. No going over the big water without finding his place of birth.
He would have come thru a port as Mihaly SZIMKANIN, Mihal SZIMKANIN or Michal SIMKANIN. You do have 2 other posts to your query on this board.
What ever spelling you find being used in US you will not find it in Slovakia.
