Shimko is an anericannization of this name S'IMKO. It is mostly seen among Slovaks and Ruthenians. But, that does not mean that no Czechs carry it.
There was no country that started with "Czech." before 1920 so this person could not have been born in that country.
The "Shimkanon" name is so odd it looks like it was invented.
If I was to look for this person in the Ellis Island files which name should I look for?
It would also be helpful to know what language he spoke and where he settled once he got off the boat. Knowing some details helps sort this stuff out faster.
